| | blank | ] | It's time for my quarterly post.. :)
If you know what I've been going through lately you will understand why today's horoscope is so important...
Libra (Sep 23 - Oct 22)
You may take dramatic action today in order to make a point about an important friendship. You could be struggling with romantic issues, but others don't realize the depth of your feelings. It's important to try to make them understand, however it may feel like the more you try, the less they get it. Being consistent is more useful than forcing anyone to believe you. |

| My advice of the day... |
[Jul. 11th, 2006|02:36 pm] |
Don't wear black underwear under khaki shorts. Even though you can't see them when the shorts are dry, you can definitely see them once you get drenched during a rainstorm.
That is all. |

| [ | mood |
| | amused | ] | So here I was reading ABCNews.com when I came across the following article about this new cell phone... I was thoroughly amused by this, particularly when I read about the last feature they mention. Enjoy. :)
New Cell Can Tell If You're Drunk June 27, 2006 -- They were originally designed to simply make phone calls without tying callers to one location. But today's cell phones can do so much more, from snapping digital photos to sending text messages to playing video.
You can add one more feature to the list: a sobriety test.
That's right, cell phones with built-in Breathalyzers are set to hit the U.S. market. So after a night of too much to drink, you can pull out the device to see if you're fit to get behind the wheel.
South Korean manufacturer LG will introduce the LP4100 this year. The company placed several models on the market in that country last year and already has sold more than 200,000 units.
The phones were previewed at the annual Consumer Electronics Show — CES — in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Here's how it works: Users blow into a small spot on the phone, and if they've had too much to drink the phone issues a warning and shows a weaving car hitting traffic cones.
"So they test it and it says don't drive so they leave their car or call the taxi," explained Sung Mee Cho of Seju Engineering Inc.
The company also sells plug-in Breathalyzer adapters for some phones. None of the models tell you exactly how much you may be over or under the legal limit, but it can keep you from making other alcohol-related mistakes.
The LP4100 also allows users to set up the phone so on certain nights and after a certain time they do not call certain people in their phone book. Think ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend.
If you have a blood alcohol level over .08, the phone will not let you dial that person. So it not only promotes sobriety, but chastity — and probably your dignity, as well. |

[Jun. 23rd, 2006|06:00 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | contemplative | ] | I haven't written much lately, but what else is new? There hasn't been much going on, and I'm not very good at making my boring news entertaining, so I figured I'd just read everyone else's. I've made a mess of my love life (or lack thereof). I sometimes wonder if I subconsciously do it on purpose. I think back to my last relationship and see how that ended... I wonder if my subconscious is trying to prevent me from getting hurt that badly again. I know, things end and that's a part of life. I guess the severity of that one is what makes me wonder about it, though. Who knows? Am I unintentionally blocking myself from getting to close to anyone? I guess that's just something that remains to be seen. In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to keep moving along and trying new things. We'll see what happens.
Have a great weekend! |

| Conversation of the day... |
[Mar. 25th, 2006|06:31 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | confused | ] | My roommate was home on his lunch a little while ago, at which point the following conversation took place...
Joe: By the way, we're going to have a visitor.
Me: Oh, really? When?
Joe: Tomorrow night... (Then, as an afterthought) through Wednesday.
Me: Oh...
Joe: Well, I told you about it a while ago, but I wasn't sure if you would remember...
Me: You said we MIGHT have a visitor, and you never said when. Will you be off?
Joe: Well, I'll be off Monday and Wednesday, and I'll go in for a little while on Tuesday morning.
Me: And what will she do while you're working? (Keep in mind that I have never even MET this person).
Joe: I don't know... Sleep? Maybe I'll drop her off somewhere on my way to work and let her walk around somewhere.
Now, do you really think it's unreasonable for me to be slightly uncomfortable with the fact that he may be leaving someone I have never met alone in our apartment while we are both working? I really don't think I'm being unreasonable. Also, who waits until the night before it's going to happen to tell you that someone will be coming to stay in your home for 4 days?
Jackass, non-smoking, party of one? Your table is now available. |

| Billy Joel |

| | giddy | ] | OH MY GOD!!!!!
The Billy Joel concert was amazing!
One definite thing I can say about the man is that, no matter how old he may get (and, boy, does he look older), he is a true performer! He still has an amazing voice, and watching his fingers fly over the piano is just incredible! His stage presence is amazing, and the way he just uses the entire stage is awesome!
The music was great! He did a lot of songs that you usually don't see him perform in concert... So that was honestly a rare treat!
I'm still on a high from that one! |

Please, I'm asking everyone, if there is something you're not telling me let me know now before things get any worse... It's better off if it's not a surprise in the end. Things have a way of coming to light when you least expect it, and the result is usually a LOT worse than it could haven been if you had been honest all along.
Thank you. |

| | ecstatic | ] | There are two awesomely fantastic events for me to look forward to!
1. RENT (the movie) opens on Wednesday! I've been waiting months for this one!
2. (Drumroll please) I will be seeing Billy Joel on January 12 at the St Pete Times Forum in Tampa! This will be my third time seeing him, and I can't wait! Joe Kiss came to work on Friday and told me that he heard tickets would be on sale Saturday morning. So, I looked into it and found out they went on sale at 10am. I got a group together within a few hours, and ordered our tickets the next morning! I am so excited! |

[Oct. 24th, 2005|01:30 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | amused | ] | I must say that the one thing that concerned me the most about Wilma was how much I was NOT concerned about it. I was at Cheers for a friend's birthday until around 2 this morning... After that we went back to their house for a little while. Got home around 4:30am, and went to bed about 30 minutes before the weather person predicted the storm to hit Orlando. Because of this I slept through pretty much the whole storm (which, by the way, really wasn't that bad around here). I've been up now for about 45 minutes (and it's still pretty windy), and have just experienced out first ray of sunshine!!!!!! Hooray for that! |

| I <3 my friends! |
[Oct. 12th, 2005|09:33 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | cheerful | ] | So, my birthday ended up being TONS of fun!
Monday (my actual birthday) I had the day off. I didn't do much during the day until about 5 when I went to cast choir (I'm singing in the Candlelight Processional at Epcot again this year). After that Lindsay and I went to Epcot for dinner and Illuminiations (fireworks). We decided to stop at Jellyrolls for a couple of hours after that since we had parked at the Boardwalk. Let me just say that it was a strange night there. There was an old man who had to do the sexy "I'm a Little Teapot" dance on stage for his birthday, some random guy who was dancing like an idiot and was invited on stage to show everyone, and a lady who went up to the piano while Michael was playing and sang on his microphone (it's very rare for them to allow that to happen). Very bizarre. Following that I went to Cowboy's house for a little while.
Tuesday was fun, too! Lindsay treated me to a birthday dinner, and then we met everyone at Jellyrolls! There were so many people there... It was great! They put me on stage for my birthday. Lindsay had already told Christian (another piano guy) that i didn't want to do the "B Game," where they play "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" and you have to sit or stand every time they say a B word. He took pity on me and had me sit on the piano while they invited up all the guys to sing "You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling" to me. Kimi took LOTS of pictures!
All in all, it was a great couple of days! |

| | Wonderful Tonight (Mom's listening to Delilah on the radio) | ] | Hello, all!
My vacation officially began with the end of work on Thursday. In case anyone is considering going to a bar the night before a 7:30am flight, please let me advise you not to go. Although I had a great time, I ended up running a little late Friday morning and got to the gate just as they were boarding the last rows of the plane. Oops.
Other than that things have been great! I went to my cousin's first volleyball game ever on Friday and had a great time! The rest of the weekend I got to spend with a lot of different people. My sister came down on Friday evening, and the boyfriend-in-law made his appearance on Saturday. We ended up bar hopping Saturday night, which helped us see quite a few different people. Last night was a blast! Katy and Joe picked me up, and we went down to Hooks for a while. Great conversation, great friends, and alcohol... Could there be a better combination?! :)
Off to get some ice cream with Mom, and then waiting for a friend to call. |

Welcome home. You're SO Jersey. You know Wildwood and Seaside are the most disgusting places on earth, and only good for drunken after prom vacations, you know there's always a "short-cut" to someplace. Isn't Jersey great? I mean, where else can you go 80 MPH and STILL be the slowest car on the road?
How JERSEY are you? brought to you by Quizilla |

I will be there September 9th through the 19th. Hooray! I know, that's just a little over a week away!
In other news... Well, there is no real news. We are looking into getting a puppy from the SPCA. It's just difficult because it needs to be a small dog since we don't have a big place, and those are hard to find.
That's pretty much all the news I have. I'll be at Jellyrolls tonight (because it's Tuesday and those are the best nights there) and tomorrow night (because it's Piano Man Drew's last night).
Now on to some cleaning... |

| Is this another way of saying boring? |
[Aug. 26th, 2005|06:57 pm] |
Who would have guessed?
Joe Normal 39 % Nerd, 26% Geek, 30% Dork |
For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.
This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much of an outcast.
I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal.
Congratulations!
If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback!
Also, you might want to check out some of my other tests if you're interested in either of the following:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Professional Wrestling
|
|
My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
|
You scored higher than 19% on nerdiness |
|
You scored higher than 26% on geekosity |
|
You scored higher than 43% on dork points |
| |

I don't feel like working today! On the bright side, by this tournament last year we were already having our first of three major hurricanes. None so far this year! I guess that still has the potential to change, though. At least we know we're still ok for the next couple of weeks! |

Thanks to anyone who has added this LJ name! Just after I created the old one I realized that this would be a much better one for me to use (for reasons only preciousdiva may understand), but I was too lazy to change it. Now, after reading how much it would cost just to change my name, I decided that just adding the account was the best route to take!
I'll admit, I'm a bit behind on the world of LJ. Actually, I am a bit behind on the world of my friends in general. That's why I am so sheepishly offering my congratulations to profdana for getting her license back! Hooray! You ROCK!
Hmm... Anything else? I'm hoping to see my fantabulous friend Pilar when she is in Fla later this month... No pressure, I completely understand how busy things get when people vacation here! :)
Other than that, there's nothing more to mention. I recently heard from a great friend that I haven't really seen since the first or second year of college. Hopefully we'll be able to work out seeing each other on my next trip up north... which may be sooner than anyone here realizes... ;) I'll keep y'all posted!
Ok, I really have to go get ready for Jellyrolls now! |
